Our Monarto South Farm

While often called “Emu Bush,” the name Eremophila comes from the Greek erēmos (desert) and philos (love)—a fitting tribute to these native plants which are uniquely adapted to Australia’s arid heartlands. Thriving on the sandy, limestone soils of our Monarto South farm, their specialised biochemistry allows them to conserve moisture, endure searing heat, and resist pests, thriving where few other plants can survive.

When carefully extracted, each species offers its own unique profile of active compounds that contribute to its remarkable performance in both skincare and wellness. Research has identified anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, and antifungal properties within their oils and extracts, reflecting the plants’ natural resilience in Australia’s semi-arid regions. Each species provides a distinctive and valuable addition to a wide range of products.

  • Eremophila alternifolia

Recognised for its aromatic foliage rich in flavonoids, phenolics, and cineole compounds. Valued for both its distinctive scent and resilience, it thrives across Australia’s semi-arid regions. This plant continues to attract scientific and ecological interest.

  • Eremophila longifolia

Valued for its abundance of flavonoids, phenolics, and distinctive serrulatane diterpenes. These naturally occurring compounds have drawn strong scientific attention and are key to the plant’s ability to endure and flourish in demanding landscapes.

  • Eremophila nivea

    Eremophila nivea

Admired for its silvery foliage with a fine covering of protective hairs on its leaves and stems with contrasting lilac blooms. Endemic to the semi-arid regions of inland Australia and listed as a threatened species, it is both botanically distinctive and ecologically precious.
